August - Macro Workshop with Exotic Pets

Pascal was kind enough to bring along some of his exotic pets to the August meeting
allowing us an amazing opportunity to get close to a geko, a bearded dragon (below) a
tarantula and a python amongst other unusual species.

There was a very good turn out for the shoot and although it was a little crowded, everyone
managed to get shots of all the animals - some even daring to handle them and there were
no casualties!

April Nightshoot

A group of six members braved the city streets at night in the begining of April, meeting at 8pm until about 10.30.

Focusing around the city hall area we were able to get some great shots of the city hall itself (although the cranes in the background didnt help much) The new Clarion hotel which looks great all lit up, South Mall with the sun setting in the background, and up river towards the school of commerce.

Later on Pascal was good enough to drive us to the top of Patrick's Hill where there are some interesting views over the city and also down Patricks Bridge & into Patricks street -

Beware of passing cars and long exposures as the photo to the side illustrates some interesting effects from the mix.

We Have plans to do another night shoot in the city in the coming weeks and will let you know when.

Dingle 2007

The weekend in Dingle went very well for the group of ten members, although warm & sunny on the Saturday weather conditions were not ideal for photography especially landscape photography with hazy skies etc.

But if anyone didnt come back with at least one decent shot it wasn't for want of trying as we covered all basis including the town & harbour, the Slea Head drive, Conor Pass, Brandon and Inch Beach.

In addition to photography there was a trip to the aquarium, good food, plenty of craic and a few pints and there is a rumour that some of the lads went to the night club but its unconfirmed at this point and no one is saying anything!

Ciaran having a bit of a rest at Conor Pass

Dave Wyer setting up the shot or lovingly stroking his new camera?

For Anyone who missed the shot (and I'm sure there's not many)of the seagulls on the wall on the way to Slea Head!

Bird Crap

Anthony's Crap Shot Can you figure it out!
