CPS Exhibition 2009 "Meitheal - a gathering"

We are hosting our latest exhibition "Meitheal - a gathering" to coincide with the opening of the new Carrigaline Library on Monday April 27th.

The exhibition will run in the library until the end of May.

Over 50 images will be on display including local and Irish landscapes, seascapes, still-life and portraits, showcasing the current work of a cross section of members from novice to advanced level.

Any member of the C.P.S. who is a fully paid up member on the 31st of Dec 2008 will be eligible to submit prints for the exhibition.

Each member will be invited to submit a maxim of five prints, unmounted if possible.

Final date for submitted prints will be at the end of year competition on Jan 17th 2009.

Below are the decisions arrived at by the selection committee at its first meeting held in Nov.

Policy statement

While striving to ensure that each member will be represented at the exhibition, and each member will be treated fairly, the main concern of the committee will be to ensure that the highest quality of pictures possible, will be selected to represent the society at the exhibition, and this consideration will be uppermost when selecting prints.

In relation to selecting prints the decision of the selection committee will be final.

Prints selected will be held by the selection comm., and will be mounted professionally. Cost of mounting ( at this time) to be borne by the photographer.

Advice re. the mounting, color etc., of the mounts will be taken by the committee, from the framer.

The maximum MOUNT size will be 16inchs by 20inchs. It is suggested that the PICTURE size would be 15inchs by 10inchs.

Every care will be taken with the submitted prints, but however the selection committee, or the Carrigaline Photographic Society, will not accept any responsibility to damage or loss of prints

Submission of prints is on the basis that the conditions above are accepted.
